Bet you didn't know that any Retro 1951 roller ball can also be a ballpoint did you? All Retro 1951 pens ship as roller balls. But a 'Parker Style' ballpoint fits perfectly. Considering all of the ballpoint ink options, many customers think this is a pretty good thing. Choose from any of the various ballpoint refill options shown below.
Liquid Ink Ballpoint
Liquid ink refills use a water-based liquid ink as opposed to the oil-based inks found in standard ballpoint refills. This is essentially the same liquid ink found in a typical roller ball refill. These inks tend to saturate more deeply and more widely into the paper than standard ballpoint ink; they are designed to provide a smooth "wet ink" experience of a fountain pen or roller ball.
Gel Ballpoint
What distinguishes a gel ink refill from a ballpoint are pigments suspended in a water based gel. Gel refills are favored by many writers for their vivid colors and bold solid lines. Gel ink is noticeably thicker than standard roller ball refill ink.
