WATERMAN ROLLERBALLS
Excellence is sometimes born out of a mishap, and good luck out of misfortune. Such is the case with the fountain pen. In 1883, Lewis Edson Waterman, then an insurance broker, lost one of his most important contracts because of an unreliable fountain pen that leaked at an inopportune moment. Vowing that this would never happen again, he created the Regular, a fountain pen that would become the forefather of modern pens. A portable, reliable instrument, it was equipped with capillary ducts ensuring the simultaneous rise of air and descending flow of ink. The experience of writing with a fountain pen, until that time a risky affair, was transformed overnight into a confidence-inspiring act.
Today, more than 100 years later, with over a billion writing instruments, nibs and cartridges to its name, Waterman remains faithful to its tradition of innovation. Every contemporary Waterman, in its own way, continues to transform the act of handwriting for the individual fortunate enough to own it.
