Aurora is proud to launch a new Limited Edition 88 Blue Mamba fountain pen with guilloche “grana di riso” detailing. The color combination is ‘striking’.
Determination, speed of execution and effectiveness are all aspects of the Mamba that inspired Aurora. The texture of a mamba skin has been a source of inspiration for the guilloche pattern of the cap, barrel and bottom. The is a Limited Edition of 888 numbered pieces. The material is a hand turned and engraved acrylic resin. The trim is satin ruthenium.
The solid gold 18k nib is Ruthenium plated. It features a hand turned ebonite ink feed. The ink feed is a critical component to a good wet flow. The point sizes include extra fine, fine, medium and broad. An additional and very important feature is a removable nib section. The nib section can be unscrewed from the grip area of the pen. This feature allows for thorough cleaning and maintenance of the nib and barrel.
The piston filling system has a rear knob accesses plunger to accommodate a large capacity for ink. You can see the ink through the clear ink window. Finally, there is a hidden ink reservoir, a secondary ink chamber which serves as a spare ink tank. This fountain pen is a design and functional dream.

Just received my Blue Mamba. It looks really nice but feels like a cheap pen not something you pay $700 for. I'll keep it for now but probably my last Aurora pen. my favorites so far have been my ST Dupont (n=2) and Carne de Ache.
